Hi everyone,

All you lucky gals who ordered the creative kit should be getting it very soon (maybe you even have it in your hands already!) I am going to give you a little tutorial on how to dress up all those awesome cherries in the chipboard package. Of course, this technique is great for any chipboard, not just cherries biggrin.gif

The first thing that I did was peel the shiny piece off the top of the chipboard. I did this because the shiny finish on the chipboard does not take to paint well. It will paint but it takes a lot of coats to cover it. It's really easy to peel that top piece off...just use your nail to get a start and then rip it off. It will come off in a few pieces.

After you have the top piece peeled off, paint your chipboard as desired. For cherries, green leaf, brown stem and red cherries I always paint the edges of the chipboard as well as it gives the piece a nicer finished look. smile.gif

Let your painted chipboard dry. The next step is using Ranger Glossy Accents to adhere the glitter. Just use the Glossy Accents on one area at a time... first, cover the leaf then you apply green glitter to the leaf portion. Then use glossy accents on the stem and cover the stem with brown glitter then use the Glossy Accents on the Cherries and cover them with red glitter. Set aside your chipboard and let it completely dry.

Set aside your chipboard and let it completely dry.

Now take out your Glossy Accents again and put a coat over the entire chipboard piece. This will seal in all the glitter and give your piece a nice, shiny top coat. Let the chipboard completely dry and then it will be all ready for your project!

If you have any questions, just let me know!

FYI - the glitter I used is Martha Stewart.

Also, there are many products similar to Glossy Accents such as dimensional magic, crystal effects and a few others that work just as good!

Thanks for this Amanda! I'm pretty much a glitter-phob - I hate having it go all over the place. Sealing with the Glossy Accents is a great idea! I was thinking of using Diamond Glaze, but I think that Glossy Accents is a little thinner, and might flow better.

Thank you for this tutorial! I was looking at the chipboard and wondering how to color it. Adding glitter is great! Love your layout BTW!

Thanks Amanda!

I went mad with the glitter on my Sex in the City layout in the gallery!

My kit should be "Down Under" any day now!

Can't wait.

Beth.

Amanda I think you a making me a glitter convert...I had really pushed it aside on my scrap table --but after seeing all the wonderful things you have created using your glitter...I pulled it back out....thank you I really enjoyed using it again...
