How many of you have recently gotten on the punch bandwagon and started buying punches? I am guilty. I love those things and am always trying to come up with new and unique ways to use my punches.

Who said your layout has to be exactly square? Check out the top border on this page I did a couple of months ago with the Creative kit:

I just happened on this idea by accident. I punched my background paper with my scalloped/star punch and really liked the way that turned out. I was going to add a second scallop facing the same way with the Jillbean paper (like I did under the photos) but realized I had punched the wrong side of the patterned paper when I placed them side by side, so I just turned it over and made the scallops reverse each other instead. I really liked the way it looked but needed some sort of seam so I just used some of the sticker borders included on the die-cut sheet to bind the edges together.

On this page from last month's Creative kit:

I used two different punches. I again used my scalloped punch under the photos, and I also used the weaving punch at the top and the bottom of my background paper. To add color, I threaded very thin strips of patterned paper at the top and bottom to add dimension and movement on my page.

Show me your creative ways to use punches? I'm always looking for something new and unique! smile.gif

fabulous examples you have for us , Alicia ! I am drooling over that border punch you've used now ! lol

I do like to use the Apron Lace punch just at the top for a different look every once in a while - ditto with a Martha Stewart simple scallop punch.

Carrie, Pam is right. It is a Fiskars scalloped/star punch. It is one of my faves that I go to all the time.

I just got a new lace diamond one. And if you cut the say a 2 x 2 square then cut the corners off. You get a lacey circle. You can use it for the journal box..
