I wanted to share the mini album I made with the creative kit this month with you.

I LOVE to create mini albums but I have to admit they can be a bit time consuming.
That's why I love to work with "building blocks".
Before I start with an album I think off what shape or form would fit... and which design would fit.
I like to "prepare" and then work from a basic sketch.. so you can eventually put it together in a heartbeat.

When I saw the colorfull papers in this kit I just KNEW I had to make a summer picture album ( I wish it was summer allready!)
I had these pictures that in my opinion match perfectly .. but.. black and white pictures would have worked real well with this paper also so please don't let it stop you if you don't have bright summer pictures.

then I saw the circels in the patterned paper and I knew circles had to be it.

So I started with painting the album.
I used a shimmery white paint (Making Memories - spotlight)

While the paint was drying I prepared for the "building blocks"

I used my coluzzle to cut the circles, using both the circle border and the inside
two sizes of circle punches and a border punch (in this case a wave punch but every border punch will do and if you don't own a punch regular strips of patterned paper will do to)

I cut various sizes of circles, and strips.

I then stamped the album pages with bubble wrap to bring back the circle element. Making memories paint dries pretty fast so when you don't use too much paint it should dry pretty fast. (be carefull to not use too much paint on your chipboard because chipboard will "drink" large amounts of paint and it will take a very long time to dry plus you will "waste" your paint. when your not too happy bout the color you have the option of applying two thin layers)

while the bubblewrap- stamp- painting dries you will have time to ink the edges of your circles. I used a black cateye.
I also drew borders around my photo's with a white Galaxy Marker (American Express)
This will make your images "pop" a little more and spare you the time (and paper) to mat every single photo.

Done with that your paint will be dry too.
It's time to put your album together.
I went with a "basic sketch":
Stick your photo through the circle border, attach with double sided tape on the backside and cut a strip of your border punched paper at the bottom of your page.
create a diagonal line with the larger and smaller circles... placing your photo somewhere in the middle.
You can vary the diagonal.. from bottom left to upper right.. from bottom right to upper left corner, Larger circles at the bottom of the page.. larger circles at the top.. and so on.

The kit has lots of beautiful embellishments to "prettify" your pages, there are flowers, stickers, chipboard, ribbon. epoxy stickers, die cuts, transparencies.

So as a final step you can add embellishments.

I really hope this will inspire you to create a mini album =)

This almost makes me want to try my hand at a mini. But I think I'll wait until I'm a little better. Thank you though, I keep this in mind when I get the courage to try.

Wow, I can't believe how easy you made it look! I try so hard to make all the pages on my mini album look different, but I absolutely love how yours looks very cohesive. Wow, I cannot wait to try this out!
